WHY A VISUAL ARTIST
Behind every piece of original artwork is ultimately an artist. What differentiates and defines most artists is their compulsive obsession to create and express. Expression may defy popular design, opinion and logic. Artists create their own conceptual worlds, which their creations validate.
The lucid fragments of imagery that define personal inspiration are products of an insatiable search for answers…a restlessness to understand the eternals of existence.
I sculpt forms. I paint imagery. I examine life and ultimately myself amidst each cyclical evolution. My initial visual creations emerged when I was thirty-eight. It is a marvel that an individual discovers their internal vision at any age, their artistic voice during their ascension to middle age. Whereas many cultivate an eye or appreciation towards aesthetic composition at an early age, that passion may lie embedded and dormant through the raging insecurities of adolescence and early adulthood.
Over time, the inner voice, subdued as a whisper, swells until the decibel level of the impulse is impossible to ignore. Regardless at what point of entry, the journey on the creative path becomes irreversible and lifelong.
Artists are born, not taught. Technique may be learned, draftsmanship can be perfected, but inspiration remains the miracle of daily rebirth and viewing life through ones unique prism. This is why I remain an artist.
